A month ago we attended our friend Steven's retirement from the Marines. Steve's wife Yolanda and Seth shared the same office for the last 3 years.
The ceremony gave us a chance to reflect on the power of sacrifice and its profound effect for generations to come.
Seth, you didn't mail me any figs. Here I am in NH without a fig to my name. Hope when I get th ere in March there will be some qumquats. Oh, and I hope your gardenias will be in bloom, too. the family and Dad and I are getting all geared up for our visit in March. an we go to the orchid house at Balboa Park again? Please,please. -Mom
